A0709: Why is Japan special? – Part 10

The Wanderers did not intend to fight the force, but if there was no other way, then Edo had to defend itself and since the Wanderers were people who had a high mental potential and were very far-sighted, they could also anticipate many subsequent situations, so that the force was something they were aware of from the beginning that such a thing had to happen one day. They did not want to resolve the conflict by force, and many of the concepts they had previously conveyed to the villagers of Edo were intended to prevent such a thing from happening in the long run. The Wanderers knew that the division of wealth was an important step, but they also knew that it could not completely eliminate the envy. If it came to violent conflict, then Edo could defend itself. If the conflict was fought out like this, the Wanderers suspected that this force would show up at the gates of Edo again and again in one form or another, so the Wanderers came up with another battle plan on how to end the conflict as well, and in a sustainable way. What exactly they did we will tell you, but first we would like to instruct you in a strategic way to end a war that does not lead to bloodshed, even if that cannot always be avoided. Imagine two countries that have a bad neighbourly relationship. One day, one country might feel compelled to follow up with action instead of just words. Why do such situations actually arise, we ask? Because a country feels betrayed. This is not only the case among people, but also among groups, countries and whole planets. When one party feels that the opposing party is acting by unfair means, that party feels compelled to use other means to show the opposing party that it feels threatened or betrayed. A weighty means is not only threatening an opponent, but the tangible confrontation is a tried and tested means to read the riot act to your opponent. Then, at best, the opponent has to acknowledge that he has not made himself particularly popular beyond his usual actions. If we stay with countries, then a country’s superiority can lead to the opponent realising that the opponent cannot stand up to this superiority, thus the opponent recognises that he has to subordinate himself when it comes to the upcoming conflict. The superiority can also be the social status, because a very wealthy country has different means than a poor country. If a very poor country tries to assert itself against a very rich country, then the social status of the country cannot be placed on the scales, but then the poor country must try to put the rich country in its place militarily. What has this to do with Edo, we ask? Edo was a rich village with a very high social status and since all the other villages could not match Edo’s wealth and social congestion, they could only stand up to Edo militarily because they themselves felt they were being treated unfairly. What do countries do in such a conflict situation?

  1. They fight each other until a winner is determined.
  2. They negotiate to find out why the opposing party wants to go to war in the first place. Once it is known what the actual problem is, both warring parties must always approach each other so that a stalemate can occur in which both parties can make concessions without losing face. Then both parties would emerge victorious and the conflict can end with a negotiated peace treaty.
  3. If both parties had no prior communication so that there was no way to end the impending conflict beforehand, then it must be fought out in blood, but not in the way you assume. Suppose two kings go to war with their forces against each other. Suppose further that the fighting strength of the two warring parties is equal, what would happen in the carrying out of the warlike action, we ask? They would theoretically fight each other to the last man, and since the kings mostly act in the background, the last persons to fight would have to be these two kings against each other to decide who would now emerge victorious. Wouldn’t it be easier then, if the two kings negotiated it among themselves and the armies witnessed this duel? That is exactly what happened at the gates of Edo.

As the force stood at the gates of Edo, the tension was palpable on both sides of the conflict. The main gate of Edo opened and an embodied spirit and a protector emerged. The main gate closed and the two persons strode towards them under the eyes of the force. As they stood directly in front of the force, the embodied spirit ordered his protector to fall to his knees. When the villager did as the embodied spirit commanded, the embodied spirit beheaded the villager and handed the head to the strategist of the force, who now came forth to see what was happening. The strategist did not know what this was about and asked.

“Hey, what are you beheading your people in front of us, what is all this about? Speak or you die!”

“I wanted to bring you a gift so that you understand that we – the village of Edo – recognise your strength. We would now receive the head of your best fighter, so that we can swiftly begin the actual battle”

“We will not behead any of our own for you, filthy bastards. What makes you think we should do such a thing?”

This was exactly the moment the Wanderer had been waiting for. All Wanderer focused their minds on the force and connected with this large group of people. When the connection was made, none of the people in the force were aware that they had telepathic connections with the Wanderers, so they did not notice that their minds were being manipulated. All the people in the force saw metaphorically what corresponded to their reality, but the Wanderers added new images and these images were so gruesome and precise that the force could not see that they were mirages that they perceived collectively. The dead villager stood up again and put his head on. He then stood before the force ready to fight, his features looking so distorted that a shiver ran down the spine of every warrior in the force. That was not all, because now the embodied spirit transformed into a dragon, which put an end to the warlike will of the force. When the dragon stood before the force, he spoke the following words.

“You do not know who you are dealing with. Was my gift not enough, so that I had to bring back this human as another ghost? Speak, what do you want from us so that at last the battle may begin?”

The strategist of the force recoiled in horror, not knowing what to answer, so a companion of the strategist spoke up to clarify what it all meant in the first place.

“What do you ask of us? We don’t know your customs, so we don’t know exactly what you expect from us”

„How? You don’t know what this is all about? Is it not you who want to plunder this village? Is it not you who think that we – the embodied spirits – are not real? Is it not you who want to do burn down an do worse to our village? Why are you here if you have no idea of all this? Speak man, my patience will not last forever!”

“No, no, you misunderstand, we do not want to plunder or burn down the village, we only demand the surrender of the possessed people so that they cannot cause any more mischief”

“Causing mischief? Are you in your right mind? What are you babbling about, you pathetic human being? Do I look like a possessed human? Does this undead look like a possessed human? Speak or I’ll eat you in one piece!”

“No! Yes, you are right, the undead looks possessed, but you don’t, we are in the process of re-understanding the situation, so I ask you to let me discuss with my men for a moment”

“Listen little human, I am returning and if you have not conferred by then, I and my brothers – the other embodied spirits – will return and then we will destroy you. Did you hear what I said, little human?”

“Yes, of course”

The dragon reduced its form and transformed back into the embodied spirit. The undead beside him became human again and both villagers walked back to the main gate without turning around once. When the two people were in the village and the main gate closed again, all the Edo people involved were aware that this performance had to be a complete success, because the murmur of the force was so loud that no one should doubt any more that the embodied spirits were really spirits, possessing power that no normal human could ever attain. The force could now seemingly see in the flesh what an undead or possessed human must look like, so there was a great resistance in the force because now the real problem was no longer a problem. The force was against going to war against the embodied spirits, but there were warriors who had a high social standing and these warriors did not want to make the return journey with a loss of face, so one of these warriors challenged the embodied spirit to a duel. The Wanderers had not expected this, because the probability that such a situation could occur seemed very low. Duels were not unusual, but not to decide a war. It was now, and the Wanderers had to deal with this new situation, so they devised a ruse. As the duelists took up their positions between the main gate and the force, the embodied spirit spoke the following words.

“It is very honourable of you to want to meet your fate here. Therefore I grant you to fight against this form of mine, even if your victory is more than uncertain. Should you defeat me, I will grant you one wish. If you lose and I let you live, then you will lead your force home and you will never go to war with Edo again. Do I have your word?”

“Yes, if I lose, then we will never go to war with Edo again, but should I win, then you will make me the head of Edo and you will listen to what I command”

“Haha. Good, if you are so sure then we will grant you your wish. Let us begin and the whole of Edo and this force will witness today what happened”

The fight did not last long, though it could have been over much quicker, but it was important to the Wanderer that this respected warrior save face. However, after the warrior was defeated and lay on the ground defenceless and exhausted, the Wanderer spoke.

“Well, that was a good fight and I am glad that I could fight such a strong warrior, but now it is time to end this fight. If I let you live now, will you keep your promise?”

All present waited anxiously for the answer and the warrior had to acknowledge ruthlessly that he himself could do nothing at all against an embodied spirit in his human form, so he did not want to experience what it would be like to fight against one or against all embodied spirits in their spirit form.

“Yes. Of course I will keep my promise and now that we have all been able to testify that you really are who you claim to be, no one else should get the idea of wanting to go to war against Edo because of it either”

The Wanderer grabbed the warrior’s hand and helped him up because he could see in the warrior’s thought processes that he was serious. The force left again and all the warriors of the force continued to tell the experiences in all the villages through which they passed again to return home. The dragon is a symbol that everyone knows, because dragons are something very special, just like the Wanderers and also Japan, which originated in this way, because the Wanderers told them many things about spiritual beings, which we have already taught you in many blog entries. The Wanderers and the village of Edo came out of this situation stronger and until the Wanderers left, no one dared to oppose Edo. In the penultimate blog entry of this series, we want to go into the life of the villagers with the Wanderers once again, because many things that still make Japan special today also emerged from these interpersonal relationships.
