
A0326: Why can eating meat cause problems?
Eating meat does not necessarily lead to problems with the body, but when it comes to eating meat, a person should heed some advice:
- If you eat meat, don’t eat it in large quantities.
- Eat very little raw fish.
- Don’t eat pork because pork contains certain proteins that are harder for the human body to digest. If you eat pork, watch out for lean meat and eat little of it.
- When you eat meat, make sure you drink enough, as the meat will rot quickly and the liquid will always improve digestion.
- If you eat poultry, you are basically not doing anything wrong, because poultry meat appears to be well digest.
If you do not want to eat any meat, then you can, but the body needs certain substances that are present in the meat. Even if you do without these substances, it won’t harm you, but conscious consumption of meat does no harm either.
It makes no difference to your spirituality whether you eat meat or not, but your physical well-being can affect you whether you eat meat or not.
